Isn't it time for a different thread now? For the new season, like.

You're right.

So, predictions for all competitions? Will it be Man Utd again? Liverpool, possibly? Will anyone new get promoted? Should Sheffield United? Does anyone still care about Scotland? And should the insufferable Man U fans be made to post in a different thread?

I think United will win the league, with Chelsea second and Liverpool third, Arsenal in fourth.

I think Robbie Keane will be a hit for Liverpool and he and Torres will have the Scousers right on the heels of Chelsea, who will continue to play crap football.

With regards to relegation, I think the three that came up will go straight back down.

Furthermore, I think Ronaldinho will be a total failure at Milan.

Predictions?

Spurs might score a lot of goals, but will win b*gger all. Man Utd will win the league, Arsenal will be sh*te. With any luck. Even though they were quite good tonight.

Bradford could do well, but i doubt it, I hope Leeds do terribly but i fear they'll do well, Sheff Utd will do well but not as well as Joel would like them to, and Chelsea will play crap chav football.

And also, Darren Bent got another hat-trick tonight

And Modric scored too, chuffed to bits, even if it was only Leyton Orient.
Celtic and Dortmund at the weekend should be a better test.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Champions - Liverpool

You seriously think they'll overhaul United, Chelsea and Arsenal? Even with Torres' goals, they were still well behind the top three last year. They might have finished fairly strongly but they played half the league season with no pressure on them.

And they've not exactly been inspiring in the transfer market this summer. Besides Keane (who'll no doubt be stuck out wide by master tactician Benitez) all they've signed are a couple of no-mark squad players.

If the league title was decided by fans' self-publicising then they'd be nailed-on champions every year, but there are three far better sides then them in the league.

I really think Plymouth might get relegated this season, half the squads either been sold or released from their contracts and Sturrock hasnt exactly brought in quality to replace them either... , I think Leicesters got a good chance of coming straight back up to the championship, theyve a good squad compared to some of the other sides in that league.

I dunno, I have a feeling their strikeforce is going to be exceptional this season. Maybe a question mark over defence, but there's a question mark over all of the four teams. It's going to be tight between them, Man Utd and Chelsea (in that order), while I think Arsenal will be a distant fourth, especially if Adebayor goes.

It's their defence that will lose them a shot at the title, IMO. Keane and Torres might get 45-50 league goals between them, with Himself netting another 15 from midfield, but their defence has been sh*t since Hyppia and Henchoz got too old. Back in those days they couldn't score for sh*t, nowadays that's solved but they can't defend for sh*t.

They looked pretty shakey Tuesday night when we beat them 1-0. I hope they stay up, but Sturrock's gonna have his work cut out for him this year.

Gonna change my mind as well and say Barnsley will get relegated from the Championship this year. They've been absolutely w*nk during pre-season.
