It should be there're rather than there's....

Are either of those an acceptable contraction?

There're would be there are there's would be there is?

I would say out of the two there are is more grammatically acceptable, but contracting it?

Yes.

Yes.

Don't see why not, where're is perfectly acceptable and it's only one letter different.

I need a driving lisence. For this I need driving lessons. Which I am far too scared to do. What if I crashed? I'm not worried about hurting people, but if I so much as scratched a Porsche I'd never forgive myself

Since when do driving instructors use a porsche for giving lessons?

I don't think thats what she was saying, and neither did you, Darren.

Don't worry Rox. Driving is actually reasonably easy compared to what you think it will be... says me- a student driver currently.

TO be honest, I only caught the last few posts, so jumped to an obviously incorrect conclusion?

I wasn't having a go or anything, I was just asking.. I'd have been suprised if one used a porsche is all, since they are not the most beginner friendly car.

TO further on this.

Your first few lessons will likely be pretty scary, but as Mark said, its reasonably easy.

I'm guessing you are going with a driving instructor to begin with? If so they'll likely be using a student friendly car - relatively small and forgiving to mistakes, with dual controls so its not like you're in danger of wrecking the car, since they can brake and such for you.

Gotcha.

(Was kind of confused by that.)

As I said, I don't think you need to worry - your instructor will have controls to help you if they think you might risk you, them or someone else.

There's no way an instructor would let you get near enough to another car to scratch it.

This reminds me I need to start lessons again...and redo my theory test...boooooooo. so many pennies which I could be spending on sparkles.

Albi The Racist Dragon -

Driving is actually pretty easy. I think its more of a mental thing when you start ('OMG I'm in control of this big scary vehicle that can kill people').

Anyway, I just took and failed a citizenship test. I think I can be deported now.
