Freshly Squeezed Cynic Why does it not surprise me that for Emma-the-li'l'-Angel, school is only a hobby?

No, you've got me there... no idea.

Satan's Little Helper Toast is nice. But best when hot and buttery. Or with Nutella. Cold is bad and tastes all yeuch.

And as for burnt toast... ouch!

Mercy Nuts Dancing Skanking Laydee, I'm sorry to hear about your fall on the bus. Hope you didn't lose her wallet?

No, it was her cool that she lost.

Most memorable entrance in film

Henry Fool Hal Hartley's is a striking creation. As Simon and his family fall for his charm, his dark past catches up with him. Ian, Dorset

Bond bungee-jumping off the Soviet dam in the start of GoldenEye. Anon, Oxford

Britney

People have a go at her for getting married every five minutes. That's totally unfair. She's actually being quite honourable. She wants to have breakfast with someone, but she waits until she's married to them.

OK, so the marriages only last a week or so. That's not the point I'm trying to make here. I mean, at least she tries. Nobody's perfect.

Daggsy

If Brit carries on like this, she'll wed 16 times before she's 40!

jack nicholson's greatest roles

I have no idea how anyone can call jack nicholson a bad actor! These are obviously young people who haven't seen him in Chinatown, The Last Detail, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Terms of Endearment. John, Monmouthshire

Ian & Sean-jack nicholson has much more range than you give him credit. Check out About Schmidt, The Pledge, The Last Detail, Chinatown and Five Easy Pieces. Paul, Plymouth

Re: A Tetris Announcement

Actually, WLW, I do have friends. Their names are... er... Bob... and Jim.

I even have five girlfriends who don't know about each other! One of them took me to her house last night when I got "wasted" after a run-in with the cops. (I am of course talking about another computer game. GTA San Andreas.)

The DeLorean That Got Struck By Lightning

Bob and Jim came round t'other day. They said they'd never heard of you.

The Dark Knight splits opinion

I don't think there should be another Dark Knight sequel. It would never be as good as the last film was. Nick, Bromley

Shibz, Burton- While you're spot on about people's opinions about movies, you are wrong about Dark Knight. It is rubbish and no other opinion, unless described worse than rubbish should be allowed by anyone!!! Mark, Newtownabbey

Bring back original classics

What with The Godfather returning to the cinema, what about bringing other greats like Godfather Part II, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, Raging Bull, Rocky, evil dead, Jaws, A Nightmare On Elm Street, JFK, Star Wars (original trilogy) and Schindler's List back on the big screen.

We all know the greatest films of the 20th Century would put the 21st Century remakes to shame. MWR, Thornaby On Tees

Boring Political Stuff

Boris Johnson for PM! As a staunch Tory I would certainly vote him in. Just because he got fired for stuff to do with his personal life, doesn't mean we can't give him a chance.

For those who don't recognise him, he's the one with hair and the bike. Plus his name is fabulous. Junior Minister, your views?

Matthias Mortimer Zulu

Maybe he'd like to apply to be Prime Minister of Zine.

Tom Cruise is always the same

Is it me or is it Tom Cruise the same in all his films? Voice, looks, everything. Just watched his Valkyrie film- he's supposed to be German but he is the same again. He's not done a good film since Risky Business. Daniel, London

Those who label nicholson and DeNiro as inferior actors are usually the geeky types brainwashed by horror rubbish! Jack, Eastbourne

I Wrote This Poem, Aged 8

Family Trees:

We are wood, my family
Strong and noble, our roots dig deep
Like Adams we come from dirt
My father a big imposing gum tree
Mummy a tiny bonsai, fragile and pretty.
My siblings and I are strange saplings.
We are wood, silent and strong.

New New Model

If you wrote it when you were eight, have your poems branched out since?

Sci-Fi Society

Why do they keep sending me e-mails for the University Sci-fi Society? I'm not even a member, and have far more interesting things to do with my time than wave light sabres about.

I have cookies to bake and a Senior Minister to answer to. Then there is my wife Zam Wesall to take care of.

PS. I don't think my tablets from the doctors are working yet.

Junior Minister

You obviously work too hard. Take time off in your constituency.

More free-running required

Just saw French film District 13, and thought it was good. But, they should have had more David Belle free-running scenes. Tom, Prestonpans

Watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2. Easily best films ever made. T, York

Word Association

The word "cabbage" appeared in my head as a teacher mentioned how psychiatrists can tell stuff about you when you say random words.

I was wondering what this showed about me when hee explained a word association technique: "So I might say 'butterfly' and you'd say 'cabbage'."

Telepathy? Or coincidence?

Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
Steve-Dave: Barry has to walk 5 metres to his car every day... just to go to work and earn money for DVDs and comic books
Steve-Dave: His eyesight is so bad... that he has to wear glasses. Stylish rimless glasses which cost €250
Steve-Dave: His living space is so cramped... that h had to put his workout bench in the garage meaning he doesn't really use it any more
Steve-Dave: But for just €13 a year... You can help Barry afford a DVD that he heard was good but has been out for a while so it's not as expensive as new DVDs
Steve-Dave: Please... Give generously... And help save this poor man's DVD shelf from not being completely full because it just looks weird when it's nearly full. I mean, when it's half full, that's fine. But when there's only a few gaps left... it just looks kinda sad.... y'know
Steve-Dave: Thank you
Rayanne Graff: It scares me when people refer to themselves in the third person.
Steve-Dave: It scares Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. too
Steve-Dave: Like my Grandfather, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII Esq. always said: "Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq. gets scared when people refer to themselves in the third person, and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq. promises to never do that"
Steve-Dave: And like my twin brother, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. (or Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. for short) says: "Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. doesn't like when people refer to themselves in the third person. You and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. must have gotten that from our grandfather, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq."
Rayanne Graff: You nerds crack me up.
Steve-Dave: Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. all try our best
Rayanne Graff: ... in the pants department.
