Fame can't live forever

I vaguely remember the original Fame movie being seedy grit and impoverished needy teen angst. At least the characters seemed believable ciphers. I imagine the new flick is populated by wholesome kids from wealthy families plus a tpken troubled one from a broken home. Am I wrong? t rivers, suss*x

Sniper- I have to agree with you, Hitchhiker's was a severe letdown. Why Douglas Adams wrote a new storyline is beyond me. Johnboy, Farham

A Word About Hollyoaks

Hello. I was here about a year back. I was called Punk Kitty back then. Now I am just Kitty. And let me tell you, it's hard to type with paws!

I would like to point out the problems with Hollyoaks. Last September, I started year 12. So did Lisa, Lee and all the rest. But now they are in university. What is wrong with the world? I'm so confused.

Kitty

What about me with my, um, hooves? Hollyoaks is an even stronger beast.

Crayons

We could learn a lot from Crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colours.

But they all exist very nicely in the same box.

Fairy Nuff

What about the two green ones? And remember, folks, don't cook them.

I'm A Ziner...

Get Me Out of Here!

Wouldn't this be another great idea of mine? Throw 10 unsuspecting Ziners into the Australian outback and watch them squirm for a fortnight. They'd eat crocodile and tarantula meat for dinner and koala paws for breakfast. With nothing to do all day apart from moan and dream of a good fry-up.

Who's up for that then? WLW?

Emma-The-Li'l'-Angel

I'd be a natural. But... There'd be no chomping on koala paws.

Doctors

It's official. I am not a hypochondriac. I am suffering from stress and anxiety.

Now, how do I get an extenuating circumstances form for it?

I don't know but didn't you feel a twinge as you thought about it?

De Niro criticism sacrilege?

I'm sure you're not the only one who thinks jack nicholson is a bad actor. I can take or leave him. I hate Robert de Niro. Sacrilege, I know, but acting is art and therefore subjective, but all opinions are valid. Bob, Slough

A few of my faves: Scarface, The Guns of Navarone, Casino, Platoon, Rocky II, 300, Braveheart, Nuns On The Run, The Matrix, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Young Guns, Cool Runnings, The 51st State and Desperado. Matthew, Larne

Travel

Given the unreliability of public transport, as well as pollution caused by taxis and cars, I would like to propose a new method of transport: Cable cars! Not your bog-standard cable cars- these would be super cable cars.

Perhaps cable cars without the cable, so really just floating glass capsules with scared human faces peering through the window. These would have an advantage: you'd get to your destination on time!

More of your favourites

My favourite films are Letters From Iwo Jima, Carved, Cigarette Burns, Woman In Black, Goodfellas, Stand By Me and Das Boot. Dunc, Notts

Spielberg is the best ever? I'm not sure. Hook, War of The Worlds, 1941 and Munich were letdowns. Pete, Aston

Steve, Newcastle- There is a film called The Arrival starring Charlie Sheen where the invading aliens have backward-bending legs. Peter, Wakefield

Sumo Wrestler

When I grow up my ambition is to be a sumo wrestler. Hey, before you die, think about it logically. They get paid to be really fat and squash people, they are millionaires and s*x symbols in Japan.

There's just two little probblems: I am not of oriental race, and I'm about 400 pounds underweight. But there's hope.

Thoughts on Creation

Victor Olliver has again let his fervent religiosity slip into his reviewing. Creation is a "soft piece of propaganda for Darwinism"? Does he realise most of the educated worrld has accepted evolution as scientific fact? Maybe Vic should just be a speech writer for Sarah Palin. David, London

Victor: I am not religious but am commenting on the obvious intention of the movie. It's propoganda, even if most people accept its ideas as correct.

My New Buy

I just bought a brand new Gladiators annual from 1996. So now, if anyone needs any help with Gladiators facts, such as what was Gladiator Jet's real name (Diane Youdale), I'll just consult my annual and say: "I know this, it's Diane Youdale."

Incicentally, PJ Princess has a belting wee story about Hunter, of the same fame. He had funny hair, you know.

Leprechaun horror

Get all six Leprechaun films if you like comedy and horror. A pre-friends Jennifer Aniston stars in the first one. Tony, Barnet

My favourite entrance with a profound impact is Robert Blake's Mystery Man in David Lynch's Lost Highway- extremely tense and very spooky. Max, Kettering

Does anyone know of a comedy horror from the early '90s, I think, called Rumpelstiltskin? Ian, Bridlington

Rayanne Graff: i spoke to him a couple of times and that was in October of 2009.
the doc: Wow, a proper old head
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, he was the 15th person to join.
satansrubberduck: I didn't directly start Spam. Also the proof of that long since disappeared.
Rayanne Graff: No, it didn't; the Spam spam spam you made in 2002 is on page 105 of the Spam board.
satansrubberduck: Oh. I looked for it years ago and couldn't find it. The colour tags are (thankfully) broken.
satansrubberduck: Odd to think it's been over a decade since I first got involved with 'Zine.
Claire: It's not odd to me since I've just had the exact same conversation with you...
