Claiming? Pah!

I think the claiming of celebrities is getting ridiculous. Honestly, how old are you?

But, still, I suppose you can if you really want to. Who am I to judge you, after all?

P.S. Bob from Franz Ferdinand is mine!

Blonde Butterfly

And Bob Holness is mine. I'll have a Bob, please, Bob.

Point Blank DVD query

Hi, could you people at Vortex tell me if a DVD of John Boorman's Point Blank starring Lee Marvin will ever be released here?

I can only find region 1. The situation is the same for the Jean-Pierre Melville film Le Samourai. Could you also tell me about that, please? Thanks very much. Mohammed

Vortex: A region 2 DVD was released in 2005. Check out Amazon.co.uk.

I Want Him And Her

Is there anyone left for Ziners to claim? If no-one's got their dirty mitts on Katie Melua's perfect features then I would like her as my object of affection. She has such a nice little nose. And teeth.

Would it be greedy to have Pete Doherty as well? I want to hug him.

Tattie bye.

Mancomb Seepgood

Why don't you just claim Katie's teeth? And Pete's nose. Fair's fair.

Trek is the best

Re: Patrick on Star Trek's supposed decline: Gene Roddenberry also created The Next Generation, still the most successful sci-fi TV show ever, creating a TV boom in that genre. Deep Space Nine was well received. Box office dropped off when the franchise returned to TV in 1987. Now Trek is back to being just a film series again. As for Simon Pegg, he went to drama school; so of course he can play Scotty in Star Trek XI. Gary Makin, Liverpool

A Collection?

What does one do when one has no money? One wins the lottery

What does one do when one is only 15? One stays at home and cries.

Well, you suggest something better to do when one has only cows for company on weekdays?

Fifi the Purple-Headed Ex Wannabe

Take the cows down the newsagent's and let 'em try their paws at the lotto.

The Baby's weirdest

The weirdest film I have ever seen is the unnatural The Baby. What a load of rubbish it was. How any actors, directors or producers could come up with this rubbish I don't know. MWR, Thornby-On-Tees

Re: Matthew, 17/9: I have seen The Dark Knight. What I can't understand is how it has grossed nearly twice as much as Batman Begins, when they're not too dissimilar in terms of entertainment. Charnjit, leeds

The Owl of Bewilderment I was going to send something REALLY boring, but I guess this is better than I expected.

No. Just a waste of time.

Toenail Clippings Now I will sing Greensleeves- der der der derde de dedurde de de dum.

I have that as my mob ring tone. Der der der derde de.

Lord Charles You'll be pleased to hear that I'm writing a book, WLW. I've got the page numbers done.

Could you base your main character on me?

Advice on new Tarzan

I think producers of the new Tarzan could be well advised to follow MGM's example with Johnny Weismuller and hire an athlete but the best option might be to go the mo-cap route.

I imagine a virtual jungle would be murder to create but, as with Beowulf, it would allow a good actor to portray a towering super-human and take the edge off the violence if the aim is to be faithful to Burroughs' books which are visceral. Tim Ruffle

Pictures

I was looking through some old pictures of myself and my family yesterday. I got quite bored so I decided to cut out the facial features and make an "Uber-Family member". It had my mother's ears, my dad's nose, my eyes and my sister's mouth. I called him Dean. Dean cames along to family outings and likes to be thought of as a happy-go-lucky kinda fella.

Topper

What a good idea. I may well try that. I always wanted a brother.

Like The Kop on a European night, the debut album by The Maybes? is the real deal. Promise is a contemporary mash of The Who and The Beach Boys, with a sprinkling of The La's. It's my favourite album of the year so far. Eddie Clarke

Dresden Dolls singer Amanda Palmer's solo album is amazing. Who Killed seems to have been released quietly, so I feel compelled to mention it and urge Voiders to buy it. Roly Jakeman

I'm So Lucky

I've just discovered £2.46 under my bed in 2ps, among the remains of a month-old pizza, a half-empty can of Irn Bru, six vitamin pills, 68 odd socks, a piece of gum with a filling in it and the stringy stuff from New Year's Eve.

i'm now off to the chippy to spend my findings.

Destructive Gerbil

Ooh and you can have pizza with your chips and wash it down with Irn Bru.

While I like Staind's new album, calling it The Illusion of Progress is an open invitation to critics. Also, it was good to see Earls' positive review of Everlast's new album: you're not kidding about him being underrated. Stained Art

I have a feeling Razorlight and The Kooks are in a private sweepstake to see who make me dig my eardrums out with a spoon first. That cack Brit School has a lot to answer for. Dante Banks

Ministry of Mayhem

Isn't this show just great? I would really love to go on there one day but being close to turning the ripe old age of 19 I have decided to pass.

Also, does anyone else go really hyper when they do that dance routine at the end?

Emma-the-li'l'-Angel

They may be as cheesy as Parmesan, but I can't wait to see The Feeling on tour in November as they're my guilty pleasure. Donna S

It's good to see Earls give an honest review to Kings of Leon's new album. The first four songs are awesome, but the rest is boring ballad territory. I'm considering selling my ticket for their tour, as it's so weak. They need to grow their beards and drink some moonshine. Lawrence Vaughan

He Who Loves To Skank (Yet Again)

You should really pay more attention. WLW actually started spelling his name backwards months ago- I'm amazed that you haven't noticed! You have to keep your eyes open for these things, people.

Also, has anyone seen my Jaffa Cakes? They went missing a while ago (WLW, I'm looking at you...).

Cookie

Didn't someone say they'd popped them on a pizza with cocktail sausages?

Rayanne Graff: His name is George. Also, he started Spam.
Rayanne Graff: i spoke to him a couple of times and that was in October of 2009.
the doc: Wow, a proper old head
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, he was the 15th person to join.
satansrubberduck: I didn't directly start Spam. Also the proof of that long since disappeared.
Rayanne Graff: No, it didn't; the Spam spam spam you made in 2002 is on page 105 of the Spam board.
satansrubberduck: Oh. I looked for it years ago and couldn't find it. The colour tags are (thankfully) broken.
satansrubberduck: Odd to think it's been over a decade since I first got involved with 'Zine.
Claire: It's not odd to me since I've just had the exact same conversation with you...
I Cunt Spell: YOU'RE ALL OLD
I Cunt Spell: SO VERY VERY OLD
Captain Stupendo: SRD made an appearence holy moly haven't seen him on here for years
Maeby: JIM!
the doc: Wow, event Starws isn't here tonight

the doc: Ah well, off I go as well then
Rayanne Graff: Sorry, Stu; i was busy tidying things. xx
