Has anyone seen this? I thought it was absolutely stunning, don't remember ever being so consistently entertained during a movie before.

I've seen it; very good film if not entirely original. I'd say it was like a cross between The Matrix and Eternal Sunshine, which isn't a bad thing at all, both are groundbreaking works.

DeCaprio was brilliant, to be honest I forgot that he was an actor and just accepted his character, whereas Marion Cotillard was just Marion Cotillard and I couldn't help being reminded of other films where she's given the exact same performance.

I like the way that there was no attempt to justify the existence of technology allowing people to share dreams. When you're making a film that explores an idea that isn't possible, I think it's better to avoid crappy movie science where someone in big glasses uses a stream of long words that don't actually make any sense. I think it's better to just say that the technology exists and leave it at that.

A suggestion for anyone who really liked Inception: try watching the anime film Paprika. It's in some ways very different but it has a similar theme of diving into other people's dreams. Watching some of the dream sequences in it actually gave a a weird feeling of deja vu where it reminded me of my own dreams.

Really want to. The prelude comic was interesting to say the least.

Nolan was actually shopping the idea around in 2002 so it's probably more original than you'd think, though I agree not as original as some would have you believe. It's always nice to see an original (i.e. not based on an existing work) film that attempts to create a world, not just a contained film.

I think I'll look into Paprika, heard about it before and been interested. Though anime is generally not my thing at all.

Little Blue Fox. - Hope is important.

Hope is important.

I am going to see it at 6pm, I hope. It is so exciting! I have been looking forward to it for really ages. Christopher Nolan is my bestest director, I think.
I am going to see Toy Story 3 too, I hope.

It hurts too much not to try.

I haven't seen the film, but you're really in the minority from what I've been hearing.

Indeed, everyone I know who has seen this can't stop raving about it.

Should be seeing it next week myself, along with Predators which I'm hoping I wont be too disappointed by.

Anthony Quinn of the Independent gave it one star.

I have yet to see it, but I otherwise hear good things.

wow I really don't understand that review. The calls of it being unoriginal make me laugh though, it's pretty original compared to the tidal wave of sequels and remakes that normally fill the multiplexes.

Lady Stark - Winter Is Coming

Winter Is Coming

I've just seen it today myself and I have to say that while I found it a little hard to follow in the beginning, I really enjoyed it once it got started. Despite my irrational hatred of Leonardo DiCaprio

Off topic but I also saw Predators last week and while it has the odd stupid moment it is at least a thousand times better than the AVP movies, which I did not enjoy at all. I personally think that Laurence Fishburne steals the show in this

Cracking film, saw it twice now. Really great. A few bits still confused me, even the second time. But its one of those films where it really doesn't bother me, because getting bogged down in the semantics of it just defeats the purpose. It was a great film, and definitely one to add to the list of "Things I have seen in the cinema"
There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary, and 9 other different types of people

Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
Steve-Dave: Barry has to walk 5 metres to his car every day... just to go to work and earn money for DVDs and comic books
Steve-Dave: His eyesight is so bad... that he has to wear glasses. Stylish rimless glasses which cost €250
Steve-Dave: His living space is so cramped... that h had to put his workout bench in the garage meaning he doesn't really use it any more
Steve-Dave: But for just €13 a year... You can help Barry afford a DVD that he heard was good but has been out for a while so it's not as expensive as new DVDs
Steve-Dave: Please... Give generously... And help save this poor man's DVD shelf from not being completely full because it just looks weird when it's nearly full. I mean, when it's half full, that's fine. But when there's only a few gaps left... it just looks kinda sad.... y'know
Steve-Dave: Thank you
Rayanne Graff: It scares me when people refer to themselves in the third person.
Steve-Dave: It scares Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. too
Steve-Dave: Like my Grandfather, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII Esq. always said: "Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq. gets scared when people refer to themselves in the third person, and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq. promises to never do that"
Steve-Dave: And like my twin brother, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. (or Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. for short) says: "Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. doesn't like when people refer to themselves in the third person. You and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. must have gotten that from our grandfather, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq."
Rayanne Graff: You nerds crack me up.
Steve-Dave: Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. all try our best
Rayanne Graff: ... in the pants department.
