Paula needs help with her Macbook

Ok, I've been trying to install Sibelius on my macbook, only I can't. When I do it won't save so I was advised to delete all the old files and start over. Thing is some file or another is hidden and neither I nor anyone else who's looked can find the problem. I've been told that the best thing that I can do is to wipe everything clean off and start over from scratch.

My hard drive has been partitioned and I've got all my important work in the partition seperate to the one with all the software stuff on it.

I've read the apple website a dozen times and it's not sinking in. Can anyone explain to me in idiot proof terms what I need to do.

I got on the phone to the guy who suggested it and he talked me through the whole thing

He did make absolutely certain to get me to back up everything important, but it's all done now.

No worries, so long as you have your data and its working.

Give me a shout i you have issues with your machine though, i don't mind helping out and used to fix those things for a living so have a bit of an idea of what I'm doing.
