Matt Groening is a hypocritical tw*t who has absolutely rinsed the Simpsons, at one point in the 90's he said they would NEVER make a film, then it changed to "We'll make a film when we're cancelling". He's just in it for the money and any respect for him I had vanished with that abomination "The Simpsons Movie".

Beyond the original crude design of the characters, Groening has very little to do with the overall quality of the best years. George Meyer, John Swartzwelder, Al Jean and to a lesser extent Conan O'Brien were behind the best moments.

The ten minutes that is The Shinning will always be my favourite piece of television ever I imagine. I've also been known to well up a little at the 'Do it for her' ending for why there are no photos of maggie.

Worst moment was That 90s Show. Destroyed a beautiful, set character history for sone cheap pop culture references.

I do love "that's odd, usually the blood gets off at the second floor"

And you're right, one of my biggest problems with the Simpsons is their complete disregard for any kind of continuity. These things bug me.

Dismantling a person is sometimes necessary...

Even with the newer episodes they'll always be at least one laugh out loud moment so I'll always watch it if it's on. At its peak it was simply the pinnacle of what is achievable in a television programme.
I hope some day, for some reason, David Duchovny is investigated by the FBI. Because that would make a great story.

No. The Whatchoo smiling bout Willis? is the new "Things that make you happy" type thread, which is always in main. I agree this probably should have been in Main too, but I guess since I thought it would eventually end up with just loads of Simpsons quotes, Spam might be best

i know they're always in Main but i think they should be in Spam.

Also, there was a Simpsons week thing in 2007 and the avatars from it are on page 83 and page 84 of Avatars + Signatures.

It used to really annoy me that the things that make you happy thread was in main and not spam. But then I got over myself.

It doesn't annoy me; i just think it looks weird or summat. But i s'pose it doesn't matter as threads like that are fun.

There's a song by the Bloodhound Gang called Ralph Wiggum where every single line is a Ralph Wiggum quote, except the outro which is 'Yvan eht nioj'.

It still annoys me, but I guess it's one of those things that's been going so long it's just accepted now.

My least favourite is probably the one where Principal Skinner is revealed as a fake.

Matt Groening's on record as saying he hates that one.

My favourite's probably Trilogy Of Error, a slightly later one than the 'golden age' but some brilliant gags, not least the setup to the '123 Fake Street' bit at the end.

Yeah, you said that on the 9th of November, 2008.

Rayanne Graff: His name is George. Also, he started Spam.
Rayanne Graff: i spoke to him a couple of times and that was in October of 2009.
the doc: Wow, a proper old head
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, he was the 15th person to join.
satansrubberduck: I didn't directly start Spam. Also the proof of that long since disappeared.
Rayanne Graff: No, it didn't; the Spam spam spam you made in 2002 is on page 105 of the Spam board.
satansrubberduck: Oh. I looked for it years ago and couldn't find it. The colour tags are (thankfully) broken.
satansrubberduck: Odd to think it's been over a decade since I first got involved with 'Zine.
Claire: It's not odd to me since I've just had the exact same conversation with you...
I Cunt Spell: YOU'RE ALL OLD
