Not a law person, but how often do you ever hear of the father winning custody?

Statistically, I believe custody most often goes to the mother, unless they would not be able to care for the kid.

Organised Confusion -

If he's registered as the father legally he should have been paying her something, and it will not look good in court if he hasn't been doing so. Even if he could offer the child more, e.g. making more money, the courts are very reluctant to move a child unless it's in some sort of risk, so as long as she's being cared for, very unlikely. I've only studied Scots law on this, but I imagine its very similar.

Re: Above.
Does your sister have any mental health/ disabilities/ addictions that could go against her if it comes down to quality of lifestyle?
Just cos that sort of stuff counts.

No. She has paid for everything for my niece since she was born, his Mum was meant to be paying his half of things but she's only ever bought a pack of nappies since she was born. Now his facebook status is 'does anyone know of a good, reputable family solicitor?'. My sister would die if her daughter was taken away.

Again, not a law person, but I think in similar cases (from what I've read, anyway) I think the majority of the time the court sides with the mother and the father quite often just gets weekend time.

Your sister could probably do with finding a solicitor too, though. Fight fire with fire. Fight dirty if needs be. She was the wronged party. If only law were that simple.

Best of luck to her, though.

I can't actually believe that he could do this and hurt her even more than he already has, it's not fair.

I'm not a law person, apart from a little bit of land law, but I can't see him getting custody.

a) He cheated on your sister
b) He has not paid money towards the upbringing of the child
c) Your sister has no disabilities or anything which would prevent her from being able to look after the child

My advice, tell your sister to get a solicitor. The money she spends on one will be paid back because if you prove he hasn't paid money towards the child, the court will make him do so. And he brings her to court, the best he could get would be visits every now and again. Proving that he also cheated will also show the court that he is in the wrong in the situation. As Alice said, the courts rarely give full custody to the father, and usually side with the mother. Thats why there's a Fathers 4 Justice but no female equivalent (or at least none which are half as batsh*t crazy)

And for him to say that on f*cking Facebook actually makes me angry.

More chance of platting sh*te than most regular Dads getting custody, so a dead beat Dad has no chance, plus I just want to say "Deadbeat Dad beat dead".

Lol apparently he has asked both his parents for money to fund this solicitor but neither will help so he is going to try and get Legal Aid

One for the VR Tech Dept:

I've been on OpenDNS for a few months now (I'm not even fully sure what that actually means but I shall continue regardless). But since yesterday, it's started blocking some sites, including torrent sites and the like.

How do I either stop this from happening, or turn off OpenDNS all together?

Also, why has this only started happening?

Yeah, that worked a treat. Might just be me but I even think it might be slightly quicker. Excellent

How very odd...

Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
Steve-Dave: Barry has to walk 5 metres to his car every day... just to go to work and earn money for DVDs and comic books
Steve-Dave: His eyesight is so bad... that he has to wear glasses. Stylish rimless glasses which cost €250
Steve-Dave: His living space is so cramped... that h had to put his workout bench in the garage meaning he doesn't really use it any more
Steve-Dave: But for just €13 a year... You can help Barry afford a DVD that he heard was good but has been out for a while so it's not as expensive as new DVDs
Steve-Dave: Please... Give generously... And help save this poor man's DVD shelf from not being completely full because it just looks weird when it's nearly full. I mean, when it's half full, that's fine. But when there's only a few gaps left... it just looks kinda sad.... y'know

Steve-Dave: And like my twin brother, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. (or Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq. for short) says: "Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV esq., Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. doesn't like when people refer to themselves in the third person. You and Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XIV.5 esq. must have gotten that from our grandfather, Professor Barrington Cornelius Smashathing XII esq."
