just been given the discs an IT fella did on fayes old HP lappy. backups of files.

hoooowever, she put them in her new laptop which said they were blank & i've just tried them in my machine now and it's saying that it's a blank disc as well

are we snookered?

thing is though, the files on here (or that are supposed to be on here), a lot of them are photos of her brother so... that's really going to sting if there's no way in hell to get it working

DVD+RW if that makes any odds

Unless he's done the disc in some obscure format, you might find they didn't write correctly.

When you right click and select properties, what format does it say its in. if any?
