Lady Stark - Winter Is Coming

Winter Is Coming

A friend of mine who has some interesting ideas about the English Language describes it as like 'Trying to sculpt jelly using a chainsaw' and I'm inclined to agree with him, yet my course uses it so I have to do all my scores on it. Gah!

Dear lucky sod who doesn't know what Sibelius is, Oh how I envy you...

Jimmy - Oi!

Oi!

Can you not just write your scores out on a napkin?
I like Jesus but he loves me so it's awkward.

Succinctly, "SH*TE" sums it up.

Which Sibelius version are you using? For my GCSEs I used Sibelius 1, which was awful (and why they still haven't fixed the bug that transforms a simple dotted crotchets into umpteen hemi semi demi quavers is beyond me). A slip of the mouse gives you something incredibly crazy ledger line notes (RED OUT OF RANGE! NO SH*T?!), because the click button is too sensitive. Oh, and it f*cked up my sound card so half the time it was flipping redundant and on the odd occasion I got it to work, I'd have to keep the computer on for days at a time and try to find inspiration.

Then Sibelius 2, which meant everything was incompatible. So instead of saving each time, I had to print out and start the score from scratch.

Sibelius 3 was better. You could make this compatible, play the thing back and it was moderately aesthetically pleasing. Still buggy, though. I think I had to do my A level bassline on this (can't remember if it was 3 or 4) but anyhow the time signature kept defaulting back to not what I'd changed it to and this caused me much stress.

Ahh, how I am glad it's over. What version are they on now?

Ping!

Sibelius 5, which still does this and drives me apesh*t. I do not want 4 quaver rests when a minim rest will do nicely and won't get me in trouble with my tutor for ignoring all the score prep lessons last year. I'm having to double check everything to make sure I don't make mistakes like this. And the fact that there are people on my course who've been using it for years and know all the ins and outs of it and can make it look easy doesn't help.

There is a Sibleius 6 out, but it needs an update of some kind in order to run files from older versions. I'm not too computer literate so I can't say exactly what the problem is, but everyone here is advised to use 5

Steve-Dave: Better the devil you know, though. How many of the sensible people would ever vote for Romney?
Walt Flanagan: They're going to be non-votes, not votes for Barack.
Steve-Dave: I doubt it. I'd say that with some of the stuff Romney will come out, people could vote Barack just to prevent Romney getting in.
Walt Flanagan: Well, he's so clearly a terrible human being.
Walt Flanagan: He's going to gaff his way out of the White House, even as the President is hated from all the sides of the spectrum that aren't starry eyed.
Walt Flanagan: The GOP has gone too far towards the Stupid Bigot side of things, it may take years to get back.
Walt Flanagan: I just think people who say that Obama would have to f*ck a white woman on television to not get elected are missing the danger.
Steve-Dave: Oh I think Romney will still give Obama a run for his money. Romney flip-flops a lot. Could appeal to a wide enough base overall to run it close
oatibix: Something's happened here.
Steve-Dave: This is what happens when you leave Colin.
Steve-Dave: And I don't mean "This is what happens when you leave, Colin", I mean this is what happens when you leave Colin. I left Colin and became all sensible and sh*t
Steve-Dave: I'm an equivocating motherf*cker
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, you're sh*t. i'm not sure about sensible, though.
Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
