Well it's festival-lineup-announcing season anyway. Where's everyone going? Hopefully I'm off to Leeds.

Glastonbury has U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder, Reading/Leeds has Blink 182 self-confirmed, My Chemical Romance (probably) and according to efestivals, Arcade Fire. T In The Park's too far away for me to care about, and V has just announced one of the blandest lineups in living memory - http://www.vfestival.com/lineup/index.html

It's not so bad. I count four decent acts. Possibly five at a push.

I've completely fallen out of love with festivals in the past couple of years for a few reasons, mainly because I haven't found a single line up that genuinely excites me in that time. Needless to say, it's almost a certainty that I'll be saving £200 by not buying a Leeds Festival ticket this summer.

Typically, there's already a 'Downfall' parody of the rumoured Reading/Leeds lineup.

Blink, MCR and Arcade Fire? Nigga please.

Decent acts maybe, but none that make you and have to go.

I've already got a ticket for Kendal Calling, but that's pretty small. In terms of major festivals I really want to go to Download this year (AC/DC, RATM, Aerosmith) and that's about it. Went to Leeds last year cause Radiohead and Faith No More were there, it was ok but the general behaviour of the people there was just unpleasant, no time for them.

Green Man for me, with a bit of luck.
Whiskey, painkillers and speed will carry me there.....

I'd love to go to Download. Affording it is a different matter entirely

If Download had booked Black Sabbath, they would have involved every metal band I actually like this year. If I can find the cash, I think I may go there.

If I could afford it, I'd head to Burning Man. Or SXSW

A bit before festival season proper, but with a bit of luck I should be heading to this. However, Primavera's line-up is extremely unlikely to be bettered this year, I would say.

What metal bands do you actually like?

Also, I was painfully jealous of my friends who went to Glasto last year. I'm not going to be this year. U2? F*ck off Bono.

Download and Kendal Calling hopefully.
I'd like to go to Leeds and Glasto, but I feel like I've missed their peak now and I don't want the inferior experience.

Kendal!
Quite a few people I know are showing interest in it

Steve-Dave: Better the devil you know, though. How many of the sensible people would ever vote for Romney?
Walt Flanagan: They're going to be non-votes, not votes for Barack.
Steve-Dave: I doubt it. I'd say that with some of the stuff Romney will come out, people could vote Barack just to prevent Romney getting in.
Walt Flanagan: Well, he's so clearly a terrible human being.
Walt Flanagan: He's going to gaff his way out of the White House, even as the President is hated from all the sides of the spectrum that aren't starry eyed.
Walt Flanagan: The GOP has gone too far towards the Stupid Bigot side of things, it may take years to get back.
Walt Flanagan: I just think people who say that Obama would have to f*ck a white woman on television to not get elected are missing the danger.
Steve-Dave: Oh I think Romney will still give Obama a run for his money. Romney flip-flops a lot. Could appeal to a wide enough base overall to run it close
oatibix: Something's happened here.
Steve-Dave: This is what happens when you leave Colin.
Steve-Dave: And I don't mean "This is what happens when you leave, Colin", I mean this is what happens when you leave Colin. I left Colin and became all sensible and sh*t
Steve-Dave: I'm an equivocating motherf*cker
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, you're sh*t. i'm not sure about sensible, though.
Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
