Annie - duuuuude! like, whoooooa!

duuuuude! like, whoooooa!

Untouchable Face by Ani Difranco

think I'm going for a walk now
I feel a little unsteady
I don't want nobody to follow me
'cept maybe you
I could make you happy you know
if you weren't already
I could do a lot of things
and I do

tell you the truth I prefer
the worst of you
too bad you had to have a better half
she's not really my type
but I think you two are forever
and I hate to say it but
you're perfect together

so f*ck you
and your untouchable face
and f*ck you
for existing in the first place
and who am I
that I should be vying for your touch?
and who am I?
I bet you can't even tell me that much

two-thirty in the morning
and my gas tank will be empty soon
neon sign on the horizon
rubbing elbows with the moon
a safe haven of sleepless
where the deep fryer's always on
radio is counting down
the top 20 country songs
and out on the porch the fly strip is
waving like a flag in the wind
y'know, I don't look forward
to seeing you again soon
you'll look like a photograph of yourself
taken from far far away
and I won't know what to do
and I won't know what to say

except f*ck you...

I see you and I'm so perplexed
what was I thinking
what will I think of next
where can I hide
in the back room there's a lamp
that hangs over the pool table
and when the fan is on it swings
gently side to side
there's a changing constellation
of balls as we are playing
I see Orion and say nothing
the only thing I can think of saying

is f*ck you...

Pill Hill Serenade by Mark Lanegan

Tail lights through silver rain
Somebody's excited
To be goin' away
Spring like December
On the corner now
Let the memory fade and I'll forget
Well I hope she's not alone
Smiling everywhere she goes
So sweet
Then I remember she's a little older now
I'd let that fade but I don't know how
And when the sun comes up dead
You get sick of it
Makes a howling in your head
All the time
Springtime or December
Can't find cover now
Children they get excited
When the sun comes around
I'm gonna walk in silver rain
Look for mine the same
Walk for miles til the memory fades
And when the sun comes up dead
Makes it hard when you know
That it's a story that gets told all the time
Whiskey, painkillers and speed will carry me there.....

Little Blue Fox. - Hope is important.

Hope is important.

"Death of a Supernaturalist" by The Divine Comedy.

See my solitude, where once was truth now only doubt,
Touch my tortured skin, torn from within and from without,
Kiss my blistered lips, my fingertips frost-bitten and grey,
Heal my wound within, and watch the dead skin fall away.

See what can't be seen, between the table and the chair,
Touch what can't be touched, The National Trust don't own the air,
Kiss what can't be kissed, this is the risk we have to take,
Heal what can't be healed, and feel the dead skin fall away.

Only you and I know exactly how it feels,
To unblinker a narrow mind,
And by doing so reveal the obscurity of life,
The intensity of dreams,
Only you and I have realised exactly what it means.

See the infant sun, whose time has come to climb the mist,
Touch the autumn sky, burned by the supernaturalist,
Kiss the purest lips, the morning slips into the day,
Rising from the bed, we feel our dead skin fall away.

It hurts too much not to try.
I will see you in another life when we are both cats.
Quod perditum est, in venietur.*Facebook.

Big Bottom - Spinal Tap

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'
That's what I said
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
Or so I have read

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

I met her on Monday, 'twas my lucky bun day
You know what I mean
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day
You know what I mean

My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game is waiting there inside her tights, yeah

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

Lyrical genius.
I like Jesus but he loves me so it's awkward.

Coin Operated Girl - i put the screw in the tuna

i put the screw in the tuna

Rose-tinted view
And satellites that compromise the truth
But I wanted more
With the cuts and the bruises
Touch my face
A hopeless embrace

Faith, it drives me away
But it turns me on
Like a strangers love
It rockets through the universe
It fuels the lies, it feeds the curse
And we too could be
Glorious

I need to believe
But I still want more
With the cuts and the bruises
Don't close the door
On what you adore

Faith, it drives me away
But it turns me on
Like a strangers love
It rockets through the universe
It fuels the lies, it feeds the curse
and we too could be
Glorious

I know I'm probably asking for it here, but I don't find Spinal Tap funny at all.

Jimmy - Oi!

Oi!

Personally, I walk the line.

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time.
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine,
I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine,
I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine,
I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine,
I walk the line
I like Jesus but he loves me so it's awkward.

Here's To Old England

Here's to football holligans and 1966
the three day week and half days Wednesdays
and the spirit of the Bliz
Well kept lawns and little gnomes
dressing up in women's clothes
two world wars and pubs that always close.

Raise your glass to the Great Train Robbers
although they lost the lot
stick it to the bloody Bosch
and stick it to the frogs
Irish accents - terrorist bombs
queer villains who love their mums
look out kids it's another summer of love.

Here's to old England
currant buns, the bulldog breed
God bless Enoch Powell, rickets and TB
here's to old England
Morris dancing, knobbly knees
I promise to do my bit
and cheer the home team on to victory.

Drink a toast to chip pan fires
and saucy seaside humour
the simple fact that women can't drive
and other vicious rumours
Freddie Mills and Jack the Stripper
a diary date with Mr Kipper
a time when men were men and ladies were fickle

Here's to old England
sliced white bread and milky tea
sarcasm and a well-developed sense of irony
here's to old England
rotted teeth and clotted cream
I promise that I will do my bit
and cheer the home team on to victory

Raise your glass to national pride
and ordinary decent people
the first manned mission to Mars
an all-England Wimbledon final
vote labour, vote Tory
Man United national mourning
throw your lot in vote reflected glory

Here's to old England
on a lotto spending spree
God bless George Best, endless comedy
here's to old England
lazy thugs seaside resorts
hard drugs holiday homes
bought with Brinks Mat gold

I promise to do my duty to all

Yard Trip#7

Yard trip number seven
Is the one that they painted on the lawn
If we load it up into this gun
Soon it'll all be gone

Quarter to eleven
On the day of my birth
In the desert wind
I will have a grin that might
Shatter the earth

Woah, woah, woah, woah (woe)

There's three short ways to live again
Crumble like paper upon my skin
They all tell you to try
But you're gonna cry
When no one cares where you been

Couple days of driving
In circles, I'd rather spin
We got eight more lives
And two more tries
And six ways for tripping me out

Yard trip number seven
Is the one they tried to steal from heaven
And if we load it up into this gun
soon it'll all be gone

That song makes me want to get f*cking mollered. Link [Cool.gif]

Polaroid by Richmond Fontaine

Well everyone inside was half-runined and almost gone
outside in the frozen parking lot he held her in his arms
then he led her inside, her glasses fogged from the cold
and they both stood there dressed in their best clothes.
'Has anyone here seen my dad?' the girl called
'Cos he hasn't been to work and I don't know where he lives any more.'

Not everyone lives their life alone
not everyone gives up
or is beaten or robbed or always stoned
not everyone
not everyone.

Well the bartender bought them rounds and he made a toast
and with a polaroid he took their picture
and hung it on the bar mirror all alone
and for a little while it seemed like the whole world was alright
no one was beaten or forsaken
or gave up when they'd just seen the light

Not everyone lives their life alone
not everyone gives up
or is beaten or robbed or always stoned
not everyone
not everyone.

That was the first song I ever heard by them way back in 2003 and it still haunts me now. Wonderful stuff.
Whiskey, painkillers and speed will carry me there.....

the doc - What's a little sin to see us through?

What's a little sin to see us through?

now that its june, we’ll sleep out in the garden
and if it rains, we’ll just sink in to the mud
where it is quiet and much cooler than the house is
and there's no clocks or phones to wake us up
because i have learned that nothing is as pressing
as the one who is pressing would like you to believe
and i'm content to walk a little slower
because there's nowhere that i really need to be
and i find that life is easier when it's just a blur
with no details to confuse who or what or where i was
so when the ending comes the full regret will seem obscure
but these are days we dream about when the sunlight paints us gold
and this apartment could not be prettier as we danced up there alone
this tv is old, the color is f*cked, do you see the
difference in the shades?
but the green is still close to green, my love
and i believe we are the same
and we’ll stay like this, all gold and green
the light collects and projects your heart on a movie screen

and if you close your eyes
we will always be the way we were that night
you crawled inside of me
and you slept in my blood the way you sleep now
the quietest hush has consumed this house
and when the doctors have gone and you sweat through the bed
with the pictures and the pills they piled around your head
just rest now, and in a moment you will know everything
was it all a dream?
it’s too vague now to recount.
an outline of the one you loved in a life that was that not longer will be stands above you as you sleep.

F*cking love that, especially the bits in bold
Whiskey, painkillers and speed will carry me there.....

the doc: Wow, a proper old head
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, he was the 15th person to join.
satansrubberduck: I didn't directly start Spam. Also the proof of that long since disappeared.
Rayanne Graff: No, it didn't; the Spam spam spam you made in 2002 is on page 105 of the Spam board.
satansrubberduck: Oh. I looked for it years ago and couldn't find it. The colour tags are (thankfully) broken.
