Well, since Maplins staff area bunch of tossers who don't feel the need to staff the electronics section and instead just stand about nattering, I'm now having to wing things. Here's hoping the output on the serial port is going to be enough to push the info over a 100K resistor, rather than a 100 Ohms one as I suspect I'm supposed to be using. Though to be fair, being colour blind means the job could call for 100k, since I can't see an exact reading on the resistance value needed. Though I do see reference to 100R, which is another way of writing 100 Ohm.

At least I know I can't blow the board doing this since barely a trickle of juice will hit the system if I use higher rated resistors.
Anyone with better vision than me care to enlighten me as to the colours used in this image?
I'm thinking Brown Black Brown, which is 100 Ohms but I can't be certain.
