Two Suns by Bat For Lashes is topping my list at the minute. She's a complete space cadet but I love her all the same. It's proper primal in places, I love the production and arrangements and the vocals are stunning. Nice cheeky cameo from Scott Walker at the end as well.
A Man, A Woman Walked By by PJ Harvey and John Parish is a close second, with Outer South by Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley band in third place.
Still a long way to go yet though; there are imminent new albums from Biffy and the Wildhearts, and possibly the Fannies and the Magic Numbers as well.........
Whiskey, painkillers and speed will carry me there.....
It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Am liking the Florence And The Machine album but it's too soon to say yet. White Lies has gotten a lot of listens too.
All three of these added to my vote too please. It's been a good year for some cracking albums so far, there's been some other good ones that I haven't mentioned, because I don't think they're the best, but still enjoyable listens.
I actually think it's been kinda a poor year so far. A lot of the returning bands simply haven't been up to scratch. Got high hopes for upcoming Muse and Biffy, mind.
And I reckon Bat For Lashes will win the Mercury Prize.
I still haven't got Journal For Plahue Lovers. Completely forgot about Sonic Youth having a new one out, and I think there's a Dino Jr one that needs to be purchased as well.
Wish I had some money.
Stupid work

Just like to point out that I said that before the shortlist was announced. I stand by my choice
It's still Bat For Lashes for me, I think, probably PJ Harvey in second place and the Wildhearts hot on her heels. Was really looking forward to the Biffy one but it's just an even more diluted version of Puzzle and as such pleases me not

- "Hazards Of Love" by The Decemberists. - "Grace And The Bigger Picture" by Johnny Foreigner. - "Journal For Plague Lovers" by Manic Street Preachers. - "To Lose My Life" by White Lies. - "The Resistance" by Muse. - "Hey Eveyone!" by Danananananakroyd.
It hurts too much not to try. I will see you in another life when we are both cats. Quod perditum est, in venietur.*Facebook.
