I think I have an ingrowing toenail, on one that was cut squarely, but kinda went a bit too short.

Doctors do nothing these days for them. Anyone had one, what did you do?

Sister's boyfriend, who is training to be a doctor, said cut a 'v' in the nail. Not sure where. From wikipedia-ing it looks like it's a thing a doctor would do anyway.

Yes, cutting a small V in the middle usually works, and for some reason I've been told you should gently pull the skin back a bit to reveal more of nail...just don't use scissors and whatever you do don't cut any of the nail off at the side!

A cheaper alternative is cocoa butter. It contains vitamin E which helps reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Try that first, Palmer's is only £2.99 or so for a large bottle, and it smells nice too. It worked wonders on my burns for the deli.

If it doesn't work, try Bio Oil or something.

It turns out I didn't have an ingrowing toenail, but rather a blister over my toenail in an awkward place. Phew!

Ooh I love nothing more than slathering myself in cocoa butter after a steam & a sauna. Ooooh.

I don't know how bad the scar is obviously, but my sister has a really nasty one off surgery and her health care person told her that Bio Oil is really good for improving the appearance. It is a bit on the expensive side though

yeah, bio-oil is ace, me maw scraped most of her face & a big chunk of her nose off last year, or the year before...
can hardly tell now

Is there any cream or lotion or something that might be able to hide one of my scars?

i feel sort of all right about most of them. But i feel very embarrassed and self-conscious about one of them.

Bio oil. It;s f*cking expensive but you only need to use a tiny, tiny amount of it cos it's extremely powerful. That should do the trick

Eat cabbage. There are also fig cubes (Ortisan) which are high in fibre. Also try something like Fibresure capsules.

When I was in Newquay earlier this month I choked on a steak at the Wetherspoons, then went off to hospital for the most awesome operation of my life.

They sprayed me with a "throat spray" to numb my throat but I could still feel the tubes sliding down my gullet and eventually, after a lot of pushing and shoving, into my stomach. It took longer than an hour and I pretty much spent that entire time alternating between retching and burping But it was okay, a lovely machine sucked up all that excess saliva and at one point (the final push) there were four doctors holding me down

Anyway, just got this in the post:

"Dear Mr Yearley

I now have the results of the biopsies taken at your recent gastroscopy. These so show evidence of increased eosinophils. There is an unusual condition called eosinophilic oesophagitis, which can sometimes cause intermittent obstruction of food and there are various treatments that can be tried for this. I understand that you normally live in Manchester and so it would be worth visiting your GP to discuss this further. Various stratergies that have shown to be helpful include dietary exclusions and topical steroids. I will leave this in the hands of you and your GP to take further."

Steve-Dave: Better the devil you know, though. How many of the sensible people would ever vote for Romney?
Walt Flanagan: They're going to be non-votes, not votes for Barack.
Steve-Dave: I doubt it. I'd say that with some of the stuff Romney will come out, people could vote Barack just to prevent Romney getting in.
Walt Flanagan: Well, he's so clearly a terrible human being.
Walt Flanagan: He's going to gaff his way out of the White House, even as the President is hated from all the sides of the spectrum that aren't starry eyed.
Walt Flanagan: The GOP has gone too far towards the Stupid Bigot side of things, it may take years to get back.
Walt Flanagan: I just think people who say that Obama would have to f*ck a white woman on television to not get elected are missing the danger.
Steve-Dave: Oh I think Romney will still give Obama a run for his money. Romney flip-flops a lot. Could appeal to a wide enough base overall to run it close
oatibix: Something's happened here.
Steve-Dave: This is what happens when you leave Colin.
Steve-Dave: And I don't mean "This is what happens when you leave, Colin", I mean this is what happens when you leave Colin. I left Colin and became all sensible and sh*t
Steve-Dave: I'm an equivocating motherf*cker
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, you're sh*t. i'm not sure about sensible, though.
Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
