Attempted the 10k but got absolutely wiped out by the heat. I probably ran 6-7k of it in the end and walked the rest. Playing football last night, hitting the weights lunchtime and picking up a groin strain is no excuse, either. P*ssed off with myself after that.

Not been to the gym in over a week, so back in today for a solid half hour cardio session then out on me BMX after work, also back on the strict(er) diet, which is helping a fair bit. Lads I went to Barca with were shocked at how well I'd done

Nice one Phil.

I'm doing sound down the gym, increasing weight each week, just gotta focus on staying lean at the same time. Got some forms and some info on a fitness instructor course to enrol on when I've got some dosh, so hopefully next year I'll be a qualified fitness instructor. Maybe then I'll find myself working a day or two a week in a gym to get a bit of experience while keeping the job I've got. Then the grand plan is to use that money to take a level 3 course to become a personal trainer.

Still, we'll see how things pan out. Most importantly I have to keep in tip top shape or I'll look like a p*ss-taker doing a course like that

Bloody hell, talk about bad luck. You've had the worst run of injuries I've ever known. VR's answer to Michael Owen. How long until the bursitis clears?

Ouch.

Rowing machines, plus 30 minutes on a recumbent bike, plus various weights machines = massive a*s blisters on my hands.. Ah well, same again tomorrow.

You need gloves fella, or you'll end up with callouses like me

Did half hour of HIIT on the crosser. Surprisingly given the amount of sh*t I ate and drank this past two weeks, I'm still at the same weight I was before I went Barca.

Started back at the gym yesterday. Tough getting back into it. 10 minutes rower, 10 cross trainer, weights machines, 10 minutes bike, 10 minutes cross trainer, 5 minute walk on trwadmill to finish off. Didn't want to push myself too hard as my back is still sore, but I knew if I didn't start back soon I wouldn't start back at all

Callouses aren't an issue really, I have loads of them from nearly 15 years of playing drums.. First blisters I've had on my hands/fingers in years.

Its actually good for them to callous, since it'll help with other things I have in the pipe line, like getting back into climbing/abseiling.

Enquired about my diet on another forum. Apparantly its actually quite a good diet. Needs a few tweaks here or there, but overall I'm pleased. I found a diet I can pretty much maintain.

Still want to try getting more fruit and veg (and fibre ) into my diet though

Steve-Dave: Better the devil you know, though. How many of the sensible people would ever vote for Romney?
Walt Flanagan: They're going to be non-votes, not votes for Barack.
Steve-Dave: I doubt it. I'd say that with some of the stuff Romney will come out, people could vote Barack just to prevent Romney getting in.
Walt Flanagan: Well, he's so clearly a terrible human being.
Walt Flanagan: He's going to gaff his way out of the White House, even as the President is hated from all the sides of the spectrum that aren't starry eyed.
Walt Flanagan: The GOP has gone too far towards the Stupid Bigot side of things, it may take years to get back.
Walt Flanagan: I just think people who say that Obama would have to f*ck a white woman on television to not get elected are missing the danger.
Steve-Dave: Oh I think Romney will still give Obama a run for his money. Romney flip-flops a lot. Could appeal to a wide enough base overall to run it close
oatibix: Something's happened here.
Steve-Dave: This is what happens when you leave Colin.
Steve-Dave: And I don't mean "This is what happens when you leave, Colin", I mean this is what happens when you leave Colin. I left Colin and became all sensible and sh*t
Steve-Dave: I'm an equivocating motherf*cker
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, you're sh*t. i'm not sure about sensible, though.
Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
