Endless Nameless by the Wildhearts

Replacing my old cassette. Really polarised the fans, this one. I love it meself but a lot of folks hated the kinda post-industrial production on it. It's basically just a collection of great pop songs but buried beneath a brutal wall of feedback and noise. Great stuff.

Picked up Gold by Ryan Adams for a couple of quid in a second hand book shop in Hawes the other day. It's not unpleasant, but it's really f*cking bland. Remember Mark Wombat being really into this guy once upon a time but I can't see the appeal on this one.

Have heard some stuff by him that's been pretty good so dunno what the craic is here to be honest.

i think Mark still likes Ryan Adams as he mentioned on Twitter that he's going to see him in April.

Blues Funeral by the Lanegan band should be arriving on Monday. First solo record for him in six or seven years, should be titanic.

Also just ordered Brotherhood Of Light, a comp of rarities from Jeff the Brotherhood, on 12" vinyl from the good folks at Infinity Cat Records, Nashville TN

Bit of a disappointment, this one. It's not bad as such but it's totally overproduced and much of it lacks bite, which is something you could never say about any of his other stuff. First song is brutal but it's all downhill from there and one of the songs sounds like Uf*cking2. Hope it sounds better live.

Just ordered those two for the princely sum of five pounds and two pence, including postage. Amazon marketplace is marvellous.

The Ugly Organ by Cursive.

Ania speaks very highly of these guys and we're off to see them in a couple of months. Bought this on the cheap (Zoverstocks on Amazon marketplace is the best place in the world for cheap back catalogue CDs) and also checking them out on YouTube. Sounds very promising.

Bing Bong Changes

Far too many to catch up on, but recently I've been working towards completing my back catalogues of Manic Street Preachers, Mystery Jets, Eminem and Kasabian.

The most recent individual album that I discovered and loved was Wild Go by Dark Dark Dark. The whole thing's available legally to stream for free on Youtube if you want to check it out.

Just played that vid five times in a row. Lovelovelove.

Gonna get me the new Laura Gibson vinyl and I promised Pip Mountjoy I'd buy her EP and it's only four quid so I reckon I'll be ordering that when I get paid on Monday as well.

My Heavy Cream vinyl still hasn't turned up. Got in touch with the label and it was posted nearly three weeks ago. Will be seriously p*ssed off if it's got lost in the post.

Excellent choices.

Baby I-I-I...

I've recently got the Cribs latest, PiL's newest one, and Jack White's solo. None were particularly disappointing.
The ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest
And visit their graves on holidays at best
The ones who love us least are the ones we'll die to please
If it's any consolation, I don't begin to understand them

Steve-Dave: Better the devil you know, though. How many of the sensible people would ever vote for Romney?
Walt Flanagan: They're going to be non-votes, not votes for Barack.
Steve-Dave: I doubt it. I'd say that with some of the stuff Romney will come out, people could vote Barack just to prevent Romney getting in.
Walt Flanagan: Well, he's so clearly a terrible human being.
Walt Flanagan: He's going to gaff his way out of the White House, even as the President is hated from all the sides of the spectrum that aren't starry eyed.
Walt Flanagan: The GOP has gone too far towards the Stupid Bigot side of things, it may take years to get back.
Walt Flanagan: I just think people who say that Obama would have to f*ck a white woman on television to not get elected are missing the danger.
Steve-Dave: Oh I think Romney will still give Obama a run for his money. Romney flip-flops a lot. Could appeal to a wide enough base overall to run it close
oatibix: Something's happened here.
Steve-Dave: This is what happens when you leave Colin.
Steve-Dave: And I don't mean "This is what happens when you leave, Colin", I mean this is what happens when you leave Colin. I left Colin and became all sensible and sh*t
Steve-Dave: I'm an equivocating motherf*cker
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, you're sh*t. i'm not sure about sensible, though.
Jimmy: Holy sh*t everything's Barry.
Steve-Dave: Everything's better!
Puffalump: Barrier
Steve-Dave: The Barryest it's ever been
Jimmy: I can't wait for more "Important Barry and changes"
Steve-Dave: Well there will be some Barry and changes coming soon, because we need more donations. It no longer just takes £10 a year to help Barry survive
Steve-Dave: It takes like... £13
