Secondly, brutally honest? Aye right! I started a tongue in cheek thread on this Vr column about VR love, and half of you huffed and didn't actually get the point! The old membership of VR did the EXACT same with Brutally Honest. I swear, if any thread was as harsh as BH was, and it was on this current VR and it's membership, we'd have tears and huffs everywhere.

Oh c'mon, no one actually WANTS Brutally Honest back. They're just saying it because they've realised they were wrong at the time and it seems like the right thing to say now. VR's so fake nowadays (it was probably always fake, I'm just seeing it more now), people dont say what they mean, they say what they think people want them to say. Actually Chris, that thread was one of my favourites on here, purely because I like watching people get worked up even though they're not entirely sure what they're getting worked up about.

I think all VR *needs* is for the old regulars that no longer post here to start posting again. But that's not going to happen for whatever reasons, so its kind of the responsibility of the older members to start posting the interesting stuff again, rather than just complain about why it's not as good as it was.

(Oh, and top marks for the modding thing in this thread referred to in the shoutbox, same issue came up when I'll Get My Quote was still in Pub Talk. It's not censorship, its removing the drivel. Hey, maybe that's what VR needs the mods to do... )

Found this earlier. Made me smile.

Mega-zine letters seems to be going down the pan a bit too. I always thought that was one of the main things to do with VR, even if many people don't associate themselves with the world of 'Zine anymore?

I think there are three people down to copy up three days per week at the minute, and that's all. I've been getting a bit more involved with that again since i came back from Uni, because i don't want to see it die, and never be updated.

Could do with an extra few poeple to help do that. Is there anyway that mods could order the topics on that board too so, the days are ordered right when people copy things up late?

Conversational stuff does seem to go up and down like Martin said so, i don't think that is too much of a major problem. I thought the introduction of this mind/body/soul thing was given the go-ahead last time we had this discussion?

As for spam, i'm even tiring of it   Think i'm getting over the spam faze. Person Above being locked forever would stop that being used so much.

If I wasn't working, I'd gladly be a copier monkey once again. I'm not going to beat around the bush, G did a great job modding. You could always find each day (apart from when someone forgot and it was posted a day late!) but yeah, there's a lot of days missing and for those of us who don't get round to reading Teletext every day, that's a b*tch. Especially when I have some choice comments for each letter and I know WLW won't print my bitchy replies.

Bob Flapper - Me?!

Me?!

does it even get any readage though? I mean yeah it's handy and it's a nice touch, but there was the idea of a mind body and hol- sorry, soul column kicking about not so long ago, anybody want to start to get support for that? I couldn't care less, but it's a suggestion.

it is a suggestion

and as for the megazine board... sack all the mods, and get paul and claire in as the new mods. things would get done.

Also, David (Little Blue Fox) is reliable and prompt and you can't fault his attitude. So why not Paul, David and Claire running the ML board?

I apologise profusely. I started the very first one of those after getting it from my local forum. Anyone wants to beat me or ban me (joke by the way ), then I'm sure I thoroughly deserve it.

Not the topic of the thread:
The ONLY way to do that is to post threads in the right order, meaning that someone has to post the thread on roughly the right day (although occasionally the order still screws up). To this end, the Megazine Letters account was set-up (I doubt anyone's cared enough to change the password, so I still know what it is if ya need it, as should the mods) as then the first post in a thread could be made, then edited to contain Page One letters - this saved the messy business of deleting posts (and also, back when I cared about post counts, it meant that ML didn't unfairly bump it up).

And if the mods would quit when they didn't want to do it anymore and sort/ad for replacements, it'd save everyone having to wait for it to go to the pits before getting it sorted. [Yeah, Paul and Claire seem like good mod material for ML, and David too, but no " " at the end of every ML post perhaps.]

On topic:
VR would be better if I was VR King. (Although seeing as how Fi isn't here most of the time, that makes me the most popular person on VR. Don't argue, I have runner-up proof But that doesn't keep me interested either.) Only because I'd still be interested. Ignore this suggestion.

Yeah. Having a MINIMUM character limit on posts perhaps - that'd stop the " " posts, which seriously drive me up the wall, and others too I'd assume.

I don't really have any suggestions. I have reasons why VR's not my favourite place to be, but they've all pretty much been covered by... everyone above.

I started the first VR spam thread, and the Team thing (which was taken in a totally different way to the way I even mentioned it). So ner, I win! Though why I'm treating this like a competition...

Well if people think i can do it, i'll give it a shot.

Still ML isn't exactly the main problem in all of this. There's other things as people have mentioned.

It wasn't about a year, it was last September. I remember that because I was in Scotland at the time.
They imitate but I teach

Rayanne Graff: His name is George. Also, he started Spam.
Rayanne Graff: i spoke to him a couple of times and that was in October of 2009.
the doc: Wow, a proper old head
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, he was the 15th person to join.
satansrubberduck: I didn't directly start Spam. Also the proof of that long since disappeared.
Rayanne Graff: No, it didn't; the Spam spam spam you made in 2002 is on page 105 of the Spam board.
satansrubberduck: Oh. I looked for it years ago and couldn't find it. The colour tags are (thankfully) broken.
satansrubberduck: Odd to think it's been over a decade since I first got involved with 'Zine.
Claire: It's not odd to me since I've just had the exact same conversation with you...
I Cunt Spell: YOU'RE ALL OLD
I Cunt Spell: SO VERY VERY OLD
Captain Stupendo: SRD made an appearence holy moly haven't seen him on here for years
Maeby: JIM!
the doc: Wow, event Starws isn't here tonight
the doc: Straws ^
the doc: *whistles*
the doc: Ah well, off I go as well then
Rayanne Graff: Sorry, Stu; i was busy tidying things. xx
