Animal -

As mentioned in a few posts the language filters have been bypassed on a few occasions, please refrain from doing this, the filters are in place for a very good reason.

Many members of this community are either under the age of 16 or can only access the site/internet through computers in "controlled enviroments" such as ones at work or school.
Thier are language filters in place to prevent the younger/school/work users from getting into trouble over this, please do not bypass them.

Also we acknowledge that thier are also a lot of members on here who are older than 16 or who may want to post what could be considered adult content, we would ask that any posts containing links to material not suited for veiwing in controlled envrioments(ie school/work etc) have the links marked as NSSW (Not Suitable for School or Work) to give advanced warning the same goes for any topics started that may contain similar content.

Thank you for your time.

The world isn't run by weapons anymore, or energy, or money. It's run by little rabbits and zeroes, little bits of data. It's all just electrons.

And what is this silly human reaction to swear words anyway? Its not like they're gonna damage your health.

They could damage your ability to be allowed to access the internet in your school.

Thanks God, this brings up an interesting thought: how and why do swearwords become swearwords?

You could make rainbow a swearword... or flibble... I guess it starts with using the word in a derogatory sense. Hmm, I wonder if I can turn flibble into a swearword. "You damn flibble!" "Flibbling well stop it!" "Go flibble yourself"

Potential methinks.

Who decided they were going to be swearwords in the first place? And why are we meant to be offended? It's not like they're anything but jumbled up letters.

It's irrelevant. If the word filters weren't there then school filters would block the site based on language. We don't want that.

The fact of the matter is that they're there, and they're not going anywhere.

Our school filter blocks anything-even the definition of meat on O.E.D online-this was school work.
Interestingly enough, we could get on to spunky.com-though it is a clothes site.

Rayanne Graff: His name is George. Also, he started Spam.
Rayanne Graff: i spoke to him a couple of times and that was in October of 2009.
the doc: Wow, a proper old head
Rayanne Graff: Yeah, he was the 15th person to join.
satansrubberduck: I didn't directly start Spam. Also the proof of that long since disappeared.
Rayanne Graff: No, it didn't; the Spam spam spam you made in 2002 is on page 105 of the Spam board.
satansrubberduck: Oh. I looked for it years ago and couldn't find it. The colour tags are (thankfully) broken.
satansrubberduck: Odd to think it's been over a decade since I first got involved with 'Zine.
Claire: It's not odd to me since I've just had the exact same conversation with you...
